We all have heard of weird, outdated laws around the US, but what about weird driving laws? Take a look at seven of the most outlandish!
ALABAMA- NO BLINDFOLDS
It is illegal to drive with a blindfold in Alabama. We were surprised this even had to be stated.
ARKANSAS- SPECIFIC HONKING
In Little Rock, Arkansas, don’t honk your horn after 9 P.M. if you are around sandwich shops or cold beverage stands. I wonder how this particular law even came into creation?
CALIFORNIA- NO SLEEPING ON THE ROAD
In Eureka, California, you are not allowed to sleep on the road. The gravel might look inviting, but we beg you to resist the urge, regardless of the law.
MASSACHUSETTS- NO GORILLAS
In Massachusetts, you are not allowed to get pulled over with a gorilla in the back seat. This could not have been an occurrence that the police ran into often.
NEVADA- LEAVE YOUR CAMELS AT HOME
There is a ban on camels walking on Nevada public highways. While this might seem crazy now, in the 1800’s camels were imported to Nevada for the U.S. Army to transport supplies. After cars were invented, camels on public highways became a safety hazard.
NEW YORK- NUDITY ENCOURAGED
In the Empire State, you can not disrobe in your car. If you feel the need to drive without your clothes on, um, maybe it is best to stay home.
SOUTH CAROLINA- NEAT FREAKS WANTED
In the town of Hilton Head, it is illegal to store trash in your car. Cleanliness is next to lawfulness.
